 Company & Concept
CombiBox Systems is the pioneer and the globally leading company of in-ground support for aircrafts at airports and in maintenance hangars. The company has more than 25 years of experience as a supplier of fixed ground support systems. More than 1 million people board aircrafts supported by the systems – every day. Combibox implements all customer adaption, calculations, project planning. Combibox also perform a supervisory function. Civil works and installation is handled by partners and follows the instructions of CBS. The global organization is lead from HQ in Stockholm, Sweden, supported by branches, market centers  and local representatives. CBS is privately owned by its management.

The concept is composed of both hardware and software. The hardware includes equipment and systems for support of ground power (400 Hz & 50Hz), PCA (pre-conditioned air), potable water, evacuation of waste water and jet fuel hydrants. The ground support media are delivered to the aircraft by means of service units and pits, for each of these purposes. The optimally positioned pits contain cables or hoses which easily can be connected to the aircraft upon arrival. Supply lines are under ground and therefore out of way and protected. The pits can be closely positioned in the apron. The pits in all 5 systems are made of galvanized steel, load-tested and highly durable to last for a century and tested to take the weight of more than 90 tons. A new generation of pits for each ground support medium is launched 2009 under the CB300 series name.

The software part of our concept is based on an orientation towards a system approach to the supply of different media to the aircraft. CBS is an integrator rather than a product supplier and all recommendations are based on a deep understanding of air-side operations. This starts with layout and positioning of the pits taking into account the various aircraft, support vehicles and boarding bridge on the apron. The combination of central supply units with the pits aims to achieve maximum efficiency and ease of handling.

A system solution for efficient ground support wherever there is a need to supply electricity, water, tool air, telecomunications and many other support technologies.

The Combi Box System makes it possible to provide ground support faster, safer and more cost efficient by reducing vehicles, equipment and personel required in support operations. We find that the benefits of a fixed underground support system have become increasingly compelling at todays busy, vehicle congested ramps all around the world.
